7 Values That Guide This Retreat

  1. Servanthood
The central focus of the retreat is servanthood—reflecting on our individual call to serve both God and others, especially in the context of the pressing needs in our communities, churches, charities, nation, and the world. As followers of Christ, we are called to serve humbly, following the example of Jesus who came not to be served, but to serve.

  2. Unity
The retreat brings together people from many denominational, ideological, and socio-economic backgrounds. It is a space where differences are respected. We stand together on the common ground of Jesus’ love and His call to servanthood. This time of reflection invites us to celebrate our diversity, while seeking to embody unity in Christ.

  3. Personal Reflection and Growth
The retreat will encourage deep, personal reflection on our relationship with God, our identity in Christ, and how that translates into actionable leadership in the world. It will foster growth in selfless, sacrificial leadership, drawing upon the example of Christ’s life and teachings to transform our hearts and actions.

  4. Hope and Transformation
Rooted in the belief that God’s grace empowers individuals to make a difference, the retreat will emphasize the hope that change, transformation, and healing are possible—beginning with the renewal of the heart and extending outward to bring healing to the world around us. In Christ, all things are made new.

  5. God-Centered Leadership
The retreat acknowledges that for we Christians, true leadership is rooted in God’s Word and exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ. Servant leadership is aligned with God’s teachings and reflects His love for all people, including those with whom we disagree. We seek to lead with humility, grace, and compassion, looking to Jesus as the ultimate model of leadership.

  6. Community and Connection
Building a deeper awareness of our interdenominational Christian community is a key goal. Participants will leave the retreat with a renewed sense of mission and a recognition that, despite our differences, we are united in Christ’s love. This community is not just for our benefit, but is a fellowship of believers sent out into the world to serve and share the gospel with others.

  7. Selflessness and Sacrifice
This retreat celebrates the journey we all seek to make, moving outward from self-centeredness to a deeper love and care for others. By drawing upon Christ’s teachings on sacrifice, selflessness, and living for something greater than ourselves, we are called to go in faith, as leaders of goodness, to love and heal the world.
